Guest artist in the Corpus Christi Concert Ballet's 2012 Spring Gala
Ballet San Antonio Principal Dancer Sarah Aujon began her training under Mayra Worthen, and continued at the Houston Ballet Academy on full scholarship. She graduated with distinction in 2005 from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Performance. Ms. Aujon has danced with Houston Ballet II, Tulsa Ballet, Bejart Ballet Lausanne and the Ballet de l’Opera National de Bordeaux. She has performed soloist and principal roles in Giselle, Don Quixote, the Dying Swan, Flower Festival in Genzano, Joffrey’s Pas des Déesses, Balanchines’ Valse Fantasie, Serenade and Concerto Barocco, Black Swan Pas de Deux, Bluebird Pas de Deux, Diana and Acteon Pas de Deux, Le Corsaire Pas de Deux, Thaïs Pas de Deux, Dracula, Nutcracker and Coppelia, as well as numerous contemporary roles. Ms. Aujon has appeared in two festivals in Paris, France, and has toured extensively throughout Spain, Italy, and France. This is Ms. Aujon’s fifth season with Ballet San Antonio.
Recently named Ballet San Antonio’s third principal dancer, Ian Morris, born in Saratoga Springs, NY, began his dance training under the direction of Phyllis Latin. He studied ballet, jazz, Latin, and tap. Mr. Morris joined the Phyllis Latin Dance Company to further pursue ballet. In December 2002, he and the Latin Dance Company performed at the Bolshoi Student Theater in Moscow, Russia. He attended the Joffrey Ballet School on full scholarship in 2004. During that same year Ian was invited to join the Joffrey Ensemble Dancers. Mr. Morris has been a guest artist with Ballet Tennessee, Connecticut Ballet and Berks Ballet Theatre among others. In 2006, he joined Montgomery Ballet under the direction of Elie Lazar. He has been featured in lead roles in The Nutcracker, Carmen, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Paquita, La Bayadere and Sleeping Beauty, as well as other classical and contemporary works. He spent the 2009-2010 season with Ballet San Antonio before returning to Montgomery Ballet. This is Mr. Morris’s third season with Ballet San Antonio.
